Samantha Scott-Blackhall

Samantha returned home to Singapore in 2002 after obtaining a First Class Honours Degree from Flinders University of South Australia, majoring in Drama and Directing. Directing credits since her return include Quills, The Physicists The House of Sleeping Beauties, The Lover & The Dumb Waiter , Agnes of God, Popcorn and Lonely Planet with Luna-id Theatre, Dead Certain, the 2003 & 2005 production of Modern Dance For Beginners, Deep Blue Sea and most recently Death and the Maiden with Escape Theatre, The Quest For The Paper Gifts (Story Theatre),  Moliere Madness, The One-Sided Wall, Murders & Manicures (Lasalle-SIA College of the Arts). Samantha also directed all 6 play readings for Action Theatre’s Theatre Idols 1, 2 & 3 as well as the winning play The Car in collaboration with Esplanade Theatre Studios Series. Last year also saw Samantha directing the Asian-Premiere production Doubt for Action Theatre and this year the restaging of Everything But The Brain.  At the Life! Theatre Awards 2004 & 2005, Samantha received no less than 5 nominations for Best Director; and for the 2005 production of The Physicists she won 2005 Best Director. At this year’s 2006 Life! Theatre Awards, Luna-id was awarded Production of the Year for Quills which she directed.

 



Katie Herron

Katie Herron is a Minneapolis born and raised actor and performance artist who studied at the Flinders Drama Centre in 2002.  She began working with Pangea World Theater in Minneapolis in 2000 as an artistic and administrative intern and is currently a member of the acting company as well as the Office Manager.  For Pangea, Katie has acted in From the Ashes, Entrances and Exits, In the Mirror, Journey to Safety, Momentum, and Shattered Images.  Her solo performance, Mirror, Mirror, was originally commissioned in 2006 by the Naked Stages program at Intermedia Arts, funded by the Jerome Foundation and will be remounted at the Center for Independent Artists in late 2007.  She is featured in two independent films: Record of Abraxas through Bok Bok Productions and Sins of a Father through Dream a New Reality.  A graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B.A. in Theatre Arts and minor in Mathematics, Katie has also trained with DAH Teatar in Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro and in the South Indian martial art Kalaripayattu with Guru Shaji K. John and Dipankar Mukherjee.  Katie is the recipient of training and research grants from MRAC and the University Research  Partnership Program.
